Generation Y

120110

If the sixties babes were Generation X then we were Y –  the instant-message insomniacs. Nerd was in; trading digital monsters over the ether, rocking out on plastic instruments and Apple ruled the world. Everything lush that was around us – all the green that had survived the boom of civilization and the unstoppable spout of cityscapes – was the Matrix to the internet’s “real world”. A second life this was not. This was it. Plugged in and living free, blogging to anyone and thinking everyone cared. Connected in every way and never more alone. Slaves in Ethernet shackles.

AUTHOR’S NOTE:
Welcome back to Blame Per Diem! It’s so weird not writing about the gang anymore, refreshing and sad all at once. It feels like I’m homesick not writing about the Womb or even Japan, but I’ll get used to it. I have some plans for December, old friends are returning, new mini-series are blossoming and – most of all – THE BOOK IS COMING!! Over the next few days I’m finalizing the 6 month compilation volume so stories may be a little on the short side, but it will be worth it. Cannot wait for you guys to see it.

This story was an extension of the rant in Maria & Me, part of The Journey major series. Felt it needed to be said.
