We watch as Paquin lands on the roof opposite, the girders she used to get there still wobbling slightly. We can barely hear the city below. It’s yawning maw stares up at us.

“Did you see that?” Adelaide asks, turning to me, “She discovered the path with her instincts, not careful planning. Sometimes you just have to jump.”

I nod, doubting myself for the ninetieth time today.

“You want in? Back to base,” she grins, before continuing “You have three hundred seconds.”

She follows Paquin across the rooftops. I only hesitate for a moment.

Sometimes you just have to jump.

Happy 100 stories, Blame Per Diem!! And what better to celebrate than a one hundred word story?  Somewhere amongst it all, there’s an alternate autobiography up there. Maybe you can spot it.
